Easy Travel - Individual

As the name suggests, this is Apollo Munich’s offerings for the Individual Traveller. The plan comes with five policy variants namely Bronze, Silver, Gold & Platinum and a specific option for the Asian Region. The Emergency Accident & Sickness Medical Expense Sum insureds vary from $25,000 to $5,00,000. These plans offers coverages like Emergency Medical Expense Cover, Dental Treatment, Personal Accident Cover, Passport Loss, Trip Delay, Trip Cancellation/Curtailment etc. They also offer their plans across three Geographic destinations – Worldwide Including US & Canada, Worldwide Excluding US & Canada and Asia Pacific excluding Japan.
  • These plans are for Individuals between the ages of 6 months to 70 years and for a maximum trip duration of 180 days.
  • The insured traveller has 24/7 access to medical advice on telephone from anywhere in the world, apart from offering cashless claims settlement across their network hospitals.

The Easy Travel Family Insurance plan is an insurance plan suitable for insuring your entire family’s trip under one policy to ensure you all have a stress free holiday. Easy Travel - Senior Citizen

This plan is made available for travellers between the ages of 71-80 years only. Easy Travel Annual Multi Trip

The Apollo Munich Easy Travel Annual Multi Trip policy is perfectly suited for frequent travellers who travel multiple times every year to destinations abroad on both Leisure and Business. The insured can purchase a single policy for 365 days during which period he/she can travel as many times as they need to, without having to worry about the coverage for each specific trip. The plans offer a maximum annual coverage with each individual trip having a duration upto 30 / 60 each, depending on their travel requirements.

The Annual Multi Trip policy is also a more economical option when compared to purchasing individual single trip policies each time the insured travels abroad. In addition to this, it offers the traveller complete peace of mind for the entire year, not requiring them to remember to purchase a single trip policy each time they need to travel. In terms of coverages also, the Annual Multi Trip plans offer the insured a comprehensive range of benefits to take care of any exigency (both medical and non medical) when they are traveling.

Easy Travel - Annual Multi Trip plan is available in four variants: Silver, Gold, Platinum and a plan specific to Asia. The Emergency Medical Expense sum insureds range from to $25,000 to $5,00,000. Coverage Description under the Apollo Munich Travel Insurance Plans

Medical Treatment, Assistance & Medical Evacuation Coverage provided against any emergency medical treatment as a result of an accident or sickness, requiring inpatient or outpatient medical attention. This also includes Medical Evacuation to a medical facility which is equipped for the treatment sought by the insured

Dental Care Covers Emergency Medical Expenses for pain relief and Dental treatment as a result of an accident.

Repatriation of Mortal Remains In the unfortunate situation of the demise of the insured, this benefit covers the cost of either transporting mortal remains to the insured’s permanent place of residence in India or for cremation/ burial ceremony to be done in the foreign country.

Personal Accident (including Common Carrier) This benefit covers the insured against Accidental Death or Permanent Total Disablement (PTD). There is an additional coverage for Accidental Death in Common Carrier where the insured is a ticketed passenger.

Total Loss / Delay of Checked Baggage This plan covers the insured against the loss of checked-in baggage which is in the custody of the common carrier on which the the insured travelled as a fare paying passenger. Also if there is a Delay in the insured’s checked in Baggage being delivered for whatever reason beyond 12 hours, there is a compensation to the insured as per the sum insured for Baggage Delay.

Hospital Daily Cash The policy offers a daily cash benefit for each continuous and completed period of 24 hours for which the insured is hospitalised.

Loss of Passport The plan reimburses the insured the actual expenses incurred in obtaining a duplicate or fresh passport either overseas or within 30 days of their return to India.

Financial Emergency Cash In the case of any unfortunate and unforeseen financial emergency to the insured as a result of a theft, pilferage, robbery the policy will pay up to a lumpsum amount upto the sum insured to the insured in lieu of the travel funds lost.

Personal Liability Under this section of the policy, the insured will be covered against any legal liability (including defence costs) payable against damages caused due to the insured’s negligence which results in a third party claim for third party death, bodily injury or property damage.

Trip Delay If there is a delay beyond the scheduled departure or arrival time of a carrier a fixed sum amount will be paid to the insured under this cover. The sum insured is as specified under the policy.

Hijack Daily Allowance In the event of an unfortunate event of a hijacking during your insured travel journey, the policy will reimburse the insured @ $50 per day for a maximum of 5 days.

Trip Cancellation and Curtailment The policy compensates the insured for the expenses incurred on account of cancelling his/her trip against any unforeseen cancellation that may occur due to death, hospitalization, or Act of God or Government regulation. Similarly if the insured is abroad and has to cut short his/her trip and return to India for similar reasons, the policy will compensate the insured for expenses incurred.

Missed Connection This cover compensates the insured against any expenses directly incurred as a result of missing a connecting flight due to the delay of an inward flight that the insured has travelled on.

Exclusions under the Apollo Easy Travel Plan and Educare

The General Exclusions under the Apollo Travel insurance plans are below, please refer to the entire list available along with your policy document.

Apollo Munich will not make any payment for any claim in respect of any Insured Person directly or indirectly for, caused by, arising from or in any way attributable to any of the following unless expressly stated to the contrary in this Policy:
  • War or any act of war, invasion, act of foreign enemy, war like operations (whether war be declared or not or caused during service in the armed forces of any country), civil war, public defence, rebellion, revolution, riot, insurrection, military or usurped acts, nuclear weapons/materials, radiation of any kind.
  • Any Insured Person’s participation or involvement in naval, military or air force operation or professional or semi-professional sporting, racing, aviation, scuba diving, parachuting, hang-gliding, rock or mountain climbing.
  • Any Insured Person committing or attempting to commit a criminal or unlawful act, or intentional self injury or attempted suicide while sane or insane.
  • The abuse or the consequences of the abuse of intoxicants or hallucinogenic substances such as drugs and alcohol, including smoking cessation programs and the treatment of nicotine addiction or any other substance abuse treatment or services, or supplies.
  • The loss or destruction or damage to any property whatsoever or any loss or expenses whatsoever resulting or arising therefrom or any consequential loss directly or indirectly caused by or contributed to by or arising from:
    • Ionising radiation or contamination by radioactivity from any nuclear waste from combustion of nuclear fuel; or
    • The radioactive, toxic, explosive or other hazardous properties of any explosion nuclear assembly or nuclear component, thereof
    • Asbestosis or other related sickness or disease resulting from the existence, production, handling, processing, manufacture, sale, distribution of asbestos or other products thereof.
  • Obesity or morbid obesity or any weight control program, where obesity means a condition in which the Body Mass Index (BMI) is above 29 & morbid obesity means a condition where BMI is above 37.
  • Pregnancy (including voluntary termination), miscarriage (except as a result of an Accident or illness or disease), maternity or birth (including caesarean section) except in the case of ectopic pregnancy.
  • Any non allopathic treatment.
  • Treatment rendered by a Doctor which is outside his discipline or the discipline for which he is licensed; referral-fees or out-station consultations; treatments rendered by a Doctor who shares the same residence as an Insured Person or who is a member of an Insured Person’s family, however proven material costs are eligible for reimbursement in accordance with the applicable cover.
  • The provision or fitting of hearing aids, spectacles or contact lenses including optometric therapy, any treatment and associated expenses for alopecia, baldness, wigs, or toupees, medical supplies including elastic stockings, diabetic test strips, and similar products.
  • Non-prescription drugs or treatments.
  • If the Insured Person is travelling against the advice of a Doctor or is receiving or on a waiting list for specified medical treatment.
  • Venereal disease, sexually transmitted disease or illness; “AIDS” (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) and/or infection with HIV (Human immunodeficiency virus) including but not limited to conditions related to or arising out of HIV/AIDS such as ARC (AIDS related complex), Lymphomas in brain, Kaposi’s sarcoma, tuberculosis.
  • Any act of Terrorism which means an act, including but not limited to the use of force or violence and/or the threat thereof, by any person or group of persons, whether acting alone or on behalf of or in connection with any organisation or government, committed for political, religious, ideological, or ethnic purposes or other reasons including the intention to influence any government and/or to put the public, or any section of the public, in fear.
  • Experimental, investigational or unproven treatment devices and pharmacological regimens, or measures primarily for diagnostic, X-ray or laboratory examinations or other diagnostic studies which are not consistent with or incidental to the diagnosis and treatment of the positive existence or presence of any Illness for which confinement is required at a Hospital.
